Small, light, smooth and holds over 60 LBS. Apr 16, 2012
By BigToe I originally purchased the Induro BHD3, but was not satisfied. It was not smooth, and was very big and bulky. I returned it for the BHL2, and it is well worth the additional $50. It is about half the size and weight, very smooth in operation, and solidly built. The only thing it lacks compared to the BHD3 is the secondary tension knob, but you can still apply preferred tension with the main knob. It also has a very nice "safety feature" for the plate. Screwing the plate release knob only opens the clamp enough to reposition the plate, but it will not come off. To take it off, you must pull the knob out and turn it.

Very nice piece of equipment. Jan 07, 2013
By Mike I wanted a well-built ball head that would safely carry the weight of a large lens. This ballhead works very smoothly and feels like a high quality piece of equipment. Everything is nicely finished and looks good. I like the plain flat black appearance - nothing shiny.
I really like the large knobs. Easy to grab and set.
I wanted a release system with the screw in/out feature rather than the lever action. I have trouble with those for some reason. The Induro release has a safety feature that was a real bonus for me. You unloose the screw and then it takes an extra pull and unlock before it lets go of the plate. Very nice, some very smart thinking IMO.
It doesn't have the usual drag control, but it has something that I think is even more clever. You set the unlocked drag you want using the large knob and then spin the little inner knob clockwise. Now you have set your unlocked drag - 5 seconds. Easy to reset if you want to change.
It does have the 360 panorama with the panorama lock knob and the 0-90 degree orientation.
It comes with one plate but I also ordered some Desmond release plates and they all fit and work quite nicely. Big $$ savings.
Highly recommended. I have a BHL3 and I bought this BHL2 for a smaller/lighter tripod I use.
excellent ballhead Apr 25, 2013
By Java I can't describe it much in words but it's an excellent build and mechanism!!! I can't find any fault with it.
Induro makes the best gear.... Handsdown !! Apr 15, 2013
By Robert Press I read every review I could find when I was looking to get a new tripod and ballhead. I purchased the Induro AT-214 Alloy tripod, and the BHL2 ballhead .I couldn`t be happier with this setup ! Nothing beats Induro for quality and function IMHO ! The Stand and Ballhead will be with me for as long as I am doing photography....even if I get the AT-314 and the BLH3 sometime down the road ! I firmly believe that I have the perfect combo (with a 10yr warranty) and can highly recommend Induro Ballheads to anybody that needs to count on their gear....for a very long time !
