NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT A CABLE NOT MADE BY SONY
THIS CABLE IS ONLY IN SONY PACKAGING, IT IS NOT EVEN MANUFACTURED AT A SONY PLANT, IT IS SIMPLY MADE IN CHINA AND BROUGHT TO THE US TO BE PUT IN A FANCY SONY PACKAGE AND TO BE SOLD TO THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY A PRETTY PENNY ONLY TO RIP OPEN THE FANCY PACKAGE AND IN THE GARBAGE IT GOES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CANT JUST ENJOY THE SAME CABLE THEY CAN BUY FOR AT LEAST $10 LESS.
PS I REALIZED THIS AFTER BUYING THIS OVERPRICE CABLE.

Kinda bogus that it doesn't come with the Sony HDR-SR7 that I purchased but you need the cable for High Def. At least Amazon has it at a good price.

Generic brand cables seemed to be hit or miss whether those will work or not, so I bought this for my Sony SR12. It works well, but this should have been included with the camcorder. It also works well with my Nikon D90 camera.

I did order one of these cables and did receive some no-name cable instead. It's not a bad cable after all, but from browsing a bit around, one can buy a no-name cable for much less.
